Stansell Properties & Development, LLC (d.b.a. STANSELL® Construction) is a WBE-certified general contractor specializing in commercial construction across 24 licensed states. Founded in 2006 by Harold Stansell, the company began with a single client in Florida and has grown over 20 years into a trusted national partner, known for delivering quality, consistency, and service at scale.
In 2014, the company was acquired by John Stege, who, alongside partner Jim Kurtz beginning in 2017, expanded STANSELL’s business model and invested in building a strong, values-driven team. Their leadership helped secure long-term relationships with national brands such as McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, Circle K, and others, while significantly expanding STANSELL’s geographic footprint.
In 2021, Angelica Connor acquired a majority stake in the company and became CEO, making STANSELL one of the only certified woman-owned general contractors in Florida. Under her leadership, STANSELL has further strengthened its culture, prioritized diversity within both the company and the industry, and reinforced its commitment to its core values: character, integrity, work ethic, and how we treat people. This focus on people and culture has led to recognition from USA Today’s Top Workplaces and WPO’s Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies, among others.
To date, STANSELL has completed more than 3,000 projects, ranging from facility repairs to ground-up construction, across industries including restaurant, retail, medical, and petroleum.
