Stansell Construction has been named a 2026 Woman-Led Top Workplace, recognizing the woman-owned general contractor for its workplace culture and commitment to creating an environment where employees feel respected, supported and empowered.
The Woman-Led Top Workplaces award is based entirely on employee feedback gathered through an independent survey. The survey measures 25 core aspects of the employee experience, including workplace culture, benefits, compensation, work-life flexibility and whether employees feel valued and supported within their organization.
For Stansell, the recognition reflects a larger commitment to doing things differently in an industry where women have historically been underrepresented.
“As a woman-owned business, we recognize the opportunity we have to help shape what the future of construction looks like,” said Angelica Connor, CEO and Owner of Stansell Construction. “We are not only focused on the buildings we construct. We are focused on how we build our company, how we treat our people, how we serve our customers and the opportunities we create along the way.”
Today, women represent 25.61% of Stansell’s workforce, compared with approximately 14% across the construction industry nationally. Women serve in roles throughout the organization, including project management, operations, accounting, human resources, and company leadership.
For Stansell, that representation is about more than a statistic. It reflects an intentional effort to create meaningful opportunities for women to enter the construction industry, build careers and grow into leadership roles while helping redefine what a modern construction company can look like.
That same intentionality extends to the company as a whole. As Stansell has grown, it has remained focused on four principles that continue to guide its culture: character, integrity, work ethic and how people are treated. Those principles influence how the company supports its employees, serves its customers and approaches every project.
“Growth is important, but how we grow matters,” Connor said. “We believe we can deliver exceptional work for our customers while building a company where people have meaningful opportunities to succeed. Doing things differently does not mean lowering the bar. It means being intentional about doing things the right way.”
The 2026 Woman-Led Top Workplaces recognition is particularly meaningful because it is based on feedback from Stansell employees themselves. It adds to the company’s growing list of workplace honors and reinforces the belief that building a successful company is about more than the projects completed or milestones reached.
As Stansell continues to grow and serve customers across the country, the company remains committed to building differently: investing in its people, creating opportunities, delivering for its customers and continuing to raise the standard for what a construction company can be.
